Leash Concepts: Red Light Green Light
Leash manners start on the human end, with a simple protocol, based on using forward motion as the main reward: if the leash is slack, reward with forward motion and treats; if the leash becomes taut, take away forward motion. To take away forward motion, either stop and wait for your puppy to slacken the line, or turn sideways and guide your dog in a "try-again" circle.
